Feasts of the Saviour & the Dormition Fast
The first of August on the New Calendar begins the two-week Dormition Fast, when we prepare to celebrate the Falling Asleep of the Most Holy Theotokos. During this month we also celebrate three different Feasts of the Savior: The Transfiguration of Our Lord (6 NS/19 OS), along with the lesser feasts of The Procession of the Cross (1 NS/14 OS) and the Translation of the Image "Not Made by Hands" (16 NS/29 OS).
