The Presentation of the Theotokos is the first feast we celebrate during the season of the Nativity Lent, on November 21 NS/December 4 OS. Saints Joachim and Anna dedicated their only child to the Lord, and at the age of three they presented her to the high priest St. Zacharias (father of St. John the Forerunner) to be raised in the temple until her betrothal to St. Joseph. The Theotokos was utterly devoted to the Lord from her earliest years, eager to do His will in all things—a foreshadowing of her work as the tabernacle for God himself. Updated 11/18/23

One of my daughter’s godmother sent this link to me as a resource because she knows I am homeschooling. It’s from one teacher to another, not that we are any better than any teacher out there— it’s also from a former school librarian to a teacher. And our reaction to this site was like a burst of joy at how many resources there were, all with deep depth and engagement. There are full lessons for all ages and that last easily an hour for catechism. Talk about not needing to look any further! Wow! My mind hurts from all the wonder. Thank you!!!
